What Format Copier Does
Format Copier is a Chrome extension that copies and pastes text formatting within Gmail compose windows. It reads the CSS styles of selected text in your Gmail drafts and applies those styles to other selected text.
Data We Collect
We collect the minimum data needed to operate the service:
- Email address - to identify your account and link your subscription. This comes from your Chrome profile or is entered manually by you.
- Extension usage data - a periodic heartbeat that tells us the extension is installed and active. This includes your extension version and Chrome version.
- Payment information - processed entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your credit card details.
- Bug reports - only if you choose to submit one through the extension popup, which may include your email and a description of the issue.
Data We Do NOT Collect
- We do not read, store, or transmit the content of your emails
- We do not access your Gmail inbox, contacts, or any Google account data beyond your email address
- We do not track your browsing history or activity outside of Gmail
- We do not sell, share, or transfer your data to third parties for advertising or marketing
How We Use Your Data
- Your email address is used solely to manage your subscription and verify your licence status
- Usage data is used to understand how many active users we have and to diagnose technical issues
- Bug reports are used to fix problems and improve the extension
Data Storage and Security
Your account data is stored in a secure PostgreSQL database hosted by Vercel/Neon. All data is transmitted over HTTPS. Payment processing is handled by Stripe, which is PCI-DSS compliant.
Data Retention
We retain your account data for as long as you have the extension installed or an active subscription. If you uninstall the extension and your subscription expires, we may retain basic account records for up to 12 months for support purposes, after which they are deleted.
Your Rights
You can request a copy of your data or ask us to delete your account at any time by emailing formatcopier@gmail.com.

Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
